In these multi-session programs, participants develop the ability to
efficiently use decision support tools to critically evaluate
management and marketing alternatives dealing with grazing strategies
and systems, methods of managing market risk, calving and weaning
dates, and much more. They will also learn to use forage, livestock,
and market monitoring skills to capitalize on seasonal patterns.
Application deadline for both practicums is May 1.

The week-long course educates participants on the principles of range
management for efficient, sustainable use of range for livestock as a
natural resource. Registration deadline is May 15.

variety of prairies ranging from sand prairie to dry prairie to wet
prairie to the special thin-soiled "goat prairie,"
The Prairie Meets the River was
chosen as this year's theme to emphasize the importance of water in the
prairie environment.
Attendees will range from biologists and botanists to prairie
enthusiasts and community members, as well as businesses specializing
in prairie seeds and prairie restoration. Abstracts due April 28.
